DESTRUCTION OF JERUSALEM & EXILE:
FROM THE HISTORIAN JOSEPHUS
PAGES 3,4 & 5 of the tract
The first Jewish/Roman war that was prophesied by Jesus, began in 66 A.D., ending in 70 A.D. Josephus (in his book "The Jewish Wars.") claimed that more than 1,100,000 Jews throughout Israel and Jerusalem were put to death by sword, spear and starvation. Another 98,000 were taken captive and sent to Rome, ending their days as slaves or dying in the Coliseum. As predicted the Great Temple was forever destroyed and Jerusalem came under Roman occupation for the next 600 years, until the Muslims and the Ottoman Turks,
gained control of Israel and Jerusalem.
gained control of Israel and Jerusalem.
The first uprising was followed by a second war in 115 A.D. to 117 A.D.
The third uprising against Rome was in 136 A.D.
At the end of that rebellion the Roman emperor Hadrian banned all Jews from Israel and changed the name of Israel to Syria Palestine. Jerusalem was devastated and the buildings demolished. It would later be rebuilt by Hadrian as a small
Roman garrison city with the name,
Aelia Capitolina.

DESTRUCTION OF THE TEMPLE
From the book Josephus The Essential Works
Josephus says in his book The Jewish Wars, Herod's Temple was destroyed by fire when a Roman soldier standing on the shoulders of another threw a burning torch through a small gold door into a building that was attached to the Temple. It started a fire that could not be extinguished. Josephus said that Titus ordered his troops to save the Temple but because of the raw violent emotion and hatred the Romans had towards the Jews, the soldiers ignored the order and began throwing even more torches into the main Temple, guaranteeing it's destruction. After the fire burned itself out, soldiers began prying the large white stones of the Temple apart to collect the gold that had melted and seeped between the cracks.
It was as Jesus said,
"The days will come when there will not be left here one stone (resting) upon another that will not be thrown down." Luke 21:6.
PROPHESY: of Jesus:

A Nation Again, a Country in One Day
Isaiah 66:8
Isaiah 66:8
Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall a land be born in one day? Shall a nation be brought forth in one moment?
After almost 2000 years of exile the Jews, a people without a country, became a people of a country. On May, 14,1948 the United Nations declared Palestine, the ancient land, would would be divided into two States, A State for the Jews and another for the Arabs living in Palestine. Israel's new Prime Minister, David Ben Gurion and members of the Jewish community revealed that this new Country, now an Independent State, would forever be known to the world as Israel.
The Isaiah prophecy, given 700 Years before
Christ, was completely fulfilled.
